Summer 2011, Part Three...New Hampshire

We all met in New Hampshire again this year, and really wore ourselves out. We did the usual things, and had a fantastic time the entire week. We always have the best weather when we are up there! And this year was no different.

Cranmore has a whole new set up for summer fun. Ropes courses in the trees, trampoline jumping, a giant swing (no thank-you!!!), a mountain coaster (yes MA-AM!), and the old tube run. There is stuff there for everyone and it was FUN! I only have pics of Max and Walker, because on this day Seth and Tate were on their hike. They went later in the week with Doug.

Walker was so NOT into this place.

We also went to the lake. Seth and Tate were still on their hike, but Max, Walker and I had fun with cousins.

Look who is loving the water...

We took our usual Sunday walk up to Cathedral Ledge. Of course, I spend the whole time imagining the children falling over the top of the chain link fence and down the cliffs.

These two guys were so happy to be together! Walker still always talks about his friend Jack.

Playing Red Light, Green Light. Or was it Mother May I? Whatever it was, it was cut throat with this group. Megan or Tom had to take over operations to calm things down.

And of course, we went to the river.

These guys worked so hard to get the dam built. The tubes went down fast too!

There was a couple there watching us, and after an hour or so they started talking to us and commented how 1. fast the walls were put up (we told them the boys have a lot of experience in this particular area) and 2. how there were people of all ages there playing together, and it didn't cost a cent. They were really impressed, especially after we told them we have been doing this for over 35 years. When we come to the river each year, I feel so much gratitude for my dad and his foresight in establishing this tradition. We didn't go to Disney when I was growing up, but we did this every year and as a parent, I think this is a priceless gift.

Grandma bought supplies for a water battle. It was the craziest 75 seconds ever.

Do you see that look on Ben's face? That is pure rage.

They may look unhappy, but really they are all just really tired. It was a long, fun, exhausting day.
