Max's birthday party was at Ben & Jerry's. It was fun! The kids got to tie-dye a t-shirt, make ice cream, eat some ice cream cake, and play outside. A lot of Max's friends were out of town, but that was ok with his brothers because that meant there was room for them to attend the festivities.
Making strawberry ice cream

Ah, the ice cream cake. Custom made for Max, who chose black raspberry ice cream as one layer and cookies and cream for the other one. It was...um...interesting...

The party was fun, and Max had a great birthday. I can't believe he is seven, mostly because I can't believe that means next year he will be turning eight, and will be getting baptized. He is growing up so fast, and is such a nice, fun-loving, smart guy. I love that Max.
Tate turned 9 about a month later, and for his birthday he took two friends (and Doug) down to Fenway Park for a special Pawsox game there. They got to see a double header, play games, and got a baseball signed by minor league players. Wow, did they ever come home exhausted but so happy. I will have to add pictures from Doug's phone, since I wasn't there and thus didn't take any!
Yep, I think this was one good birthday for Tate. It is hard to imagine him as that little guy in the NICU on a ventilator nine years ago. He is so feisty and scrappy, so smart and determined (when he wants to be). Tate is fiercely competitive, which serves him well in many things. He is bright and charming, and fun to be around. I LOVE my Tater Tot!
