Utah, Part Three, Bryce Canyon

This trip was my first time in southern Utah, and every single thing I saw took my breath away. Including Bryce Canyon, which we drove to while listening to General Conference on the drive up and back (with only one tantrum thrown over the arrangement). We multi task in this family.

Absolutely breathtaking. My photography skills don't even come close to doing Bryce Canyon justice. Everywhere you looked was painfully beautiful.

We all started out here before splitting up.

Seth and Grandpa parked over here and then hiked back to meet up with us.

While Seth and Grandpa hiked around one way, Doug, Tate and I went the other way to meet up with them. Doug and Tate ended up hiking down into the Canyon to the bottom and back up. Next time we all need to do it because they said it was crazy cool.

Grandma, Max and Walker hiked with us part of the way, too.

Max was amazing. I am not saying he loves hiking, but he was a real trooper, then happily kept Grandma and Walker company in the car while the rest of us finished our hikes.

And yes, I was totally freaked out that he would fall off the cliff. Many times along the way. In fact, Doug decided that I would NOT be hiking up Mt. Washington with them.

There was a fire not too long before we visited. A lot of the trees along the rim at one point looked like this.

Seriously!!! I had nightmares at night about this!!!

Good words to live by. Both while hiking a canyon and in life in general ( :

Don't you just LOVE Bryce? We went horseback riding there for a girls camp and I remember being struck with the beauty of.... our cowboy guide!!!! I was such a lame (typical) teenage girl! Why was I even looking at boys with all that incredible scenery?!?! It's an amazing place! Were you there long enough to watch the colors change before your eyes? The sun does incredible things there! I'm so glad you got to see it together. My kids have yet to experience this!
